If you were vocal about wanting tattoos growing up you probably got the same lecture over and over from your elders. Older folk tend to try to push you away from getting inked because “you’ll never get a job looking like that”. But a lot has shifted in the past few years. Tattoos are more ubiquitous than ever and have even become a cornerstone of our mainstream culture, taking up primetime television slots and showing up on almost all of our celebrities. In fact, nowadays it’s hard to find someone who doesn’t have at least one tattoo. In the professional world, it still does have its drawbacks depending on where you go, but there is hope where there wasn’t before. In some sectors, it turns out tattoos can even help you find a job.
